Jibibuts Wooden Blindbox

Jibibuts by Noferin. Made from rubber wood.
Jibibuts by NoferinJibibuts sp., are long-lived forest dwellers native to the west coast of Carrara Island. Found mostly in moist temperate climates, they scurry about the forest floor consuming all manner of fallen leaf litter. Jibibuts sp., are important biological indicators of forest health.
Specimens discovered by the
Biological Institute of Carrara.

Noferin working in studio. 2009Since our move back to Sydney, our vision of Carrara Island has become much stronger. Previous work was more of a glimpse into the lives of the Pecanpals. The future is the tales told in full. We are noticing a much brighter colour palate creeping into the work. It makes us happy.

We have been busy preparing some hand carved, hand cut, hand painted and hand pressed wooden prints as part of a thank you for those who are going to adopt a whole set of our Natural Wood Pecanpals in early May. Here are some progress pictures from the incredibly enjoyable, yet time-consuming printing process. The prints are on wood and each one is different.
